I don't know whether it is my favorite, but the one that I remember the most is definitely the "Jaws".
That was a good one.
I think this took the b-movie idiom and executed to perfection. the poster said it all, post apocolypse, desolation, (animal) companionship. And, which is unusual, the movie delivered.
So true and when you look at Mad Max vs Road Warrior its amazing how the visual language of the film matured. I wonder if that was just a function of budget?
